Description

The Smartwares FGA-13410 Gas Detector ensures that you are warned on time in case of a gas leak. The concentration of gases is constantly measured in the air. If the concentration is too high, the detector sounds a loud 85 dB alarm. This detector is indispensable for gas cookers, gas boilers, geysers, central heating boilers, gas stoves and gas fireplaces. The detector is EN 50194 certified.

Do not take unnecessary risks
Natural gas, butane gas and propane gas are explosive in the right concentration and therefore life-threatening. If there is a gas leak, you naturally want to be notified in time so that you can take action quickly. In your home, gas can leak for example through your central heating boiler, water heater or gas cooker.

24/7 protection
This gas detector measures and alarms for 3 different gases: methane, butane and propane and works on mains power. The sensor lifetime is 5 years and provides 24-hour protection. The test button can be used to test monthly whether the gas detector is functioning properly.

Installation
The placement of a gas detector is important because natural gas rises to the top while the gases butane and propane stay low to the ground. To detect natural gas, place the gas detector no more than 30 cm below the ceiling and no more than 8 metres from the heat source. For detecting the gases butane or propane, we recommend placing the gas detector a maximum of 30 cm above the floor at about 2 to 3 metres from the heat source. We recommend not connecting the gas detector to a switched socket, so that you cannot accidentally switch it off.

Maintenance and testing
It is important that the green light is always on, this is a sign that the detector is working properly. The functioning of a gas detector can be reduced by dust and dirt. It is therefore important to clean your detector monthly with a slightly damp cloth and semi-annually with a hoover. However, never use cleaning products or paint the detector. It is also recommended to test the detector monthly to make sure it is functioning properly.
