Carbon monoxide detectors and gas detectors
Carbon monoxide detectors and gas detectors ensure that an alarm goes off when there is a high concentration of gas. Gases such as carbon monoxide and propane are odourless and tasteless and can kill you without you being aware of it. If the concentration of gas becomes too high, a loud 85 dB alarm goes off, which allows you to take timely measures.
The carbon monoxide alarms and gas alarms all come with a battery with a lifespan of at least five years and, in many cases, as many as seven years. The battery indicator gives a timely warning when the battery is almost empty. The detectors all have a disposable battery with a lifespan of one year.
Both the carbon monoxide detectors and the gas detectors can easily be hung up using a couple of screws. They must be hung at least 1.5 metres above the ground. The devices function at their best when they are located 1.85 metres from a combustion installation.
It is recommended to test carbon monoxide detectors and gas detectors at least once a month and to regularly clean them, so that you are sure that they work correctly. It is not recommended to use cleaning products or to paint the devices. Use a slightly damp cloth and go over them with a vacuum cleaner every six months.
